Designing a career strategy
Creating a personal brand to me means organizing a mission and communicating it in a visually pleasing, comprehensive brand package that shares the same quality and experience as major brands around the world.
Researching
Developing a personal brand isn't as popular as I thought it was going to be when I started this project. It is something very popular among graphic & visual designers, but not popular out of that realm. In ways that made sense to me, but I saw it as an opportunity to build a project that was unique since my career is not in those industries.

Since I didn't really have anything to work with, I decided I had to think bigger than a personal brand, so I started researching company brands. After reading a vast set of brand guidelines, I was particullary interested in 3 brands: Apple, Crate & Barrel and Nike. They all have one thing in common, a bold black and white color palette with unique typeface and unparalled user experience. And so I set out on my mission to start developing a brand.

Strategy
I took on the challenege first of developing a mission statement and set of values that define me as a person.

Take pride in my life journey, grow the landscape of our business, and become a highly trusted, empowering leader that unlocks the full potential of all colleagues.

And my values of Accountability, Respect, Creativity, Continous Learning, Dependability, and Personability, help my execute on my mission.
I knew I needed to do something bold for my resume to stand out, so I started by choosing design patterns that associate with luxary brands. The bold contrast of black and white with bold typeface fit the bill. And so I built a branding strategy around my last name, Romankiw. This lead me to creating a professional portfolio campaign, of which the result is below.
The resume portion of my professional portfolio is succinct, and follows the design pricples of the rest of brand. I defined key moments in my professional career, and linked my key attributes to my personal values.

Developing a mission statemet was key to my development. My mission is to take pride in my life journey, grow the landscape of our business, and become a highly trusted, empowering leader that unlocks the full potential of all colleagues. I believe this keenly communicates not only my passions in terms of creating value for the company, but also my dedication to ensuring I pass on the knowledge I gain.
A personal brand is something I am passionate about. I think it embodies the shift of the digital transformation, and positions me ahead of my competition.

Thanks for reading.
